Machine Operator
Job Type: Full-Time
Reports to: Production Manager
Copper Moon Coffee is a commercial coffee roastery in Lafayette, Indiana. We source, roast, package, and ship coffee for customers all over the country. Our customers include those in wholesale, retail, and online markets. We also brew and serve our out-of-this-world coffee at several world-class cafés in Lafayette and West Lafayette.
The Machine Operators carry out production, inspection, packaging and machine operation duties at our commercial coffee roasting facility in Lafayette, Indiana.
Essential Functions
- Set up machinery and ensure all materials are readily available
- Control and adjust the functions and settings of machines
- Feed necessary product to semi-automated machine
- Effectively monitor production equipment and test the operation of machines periodically
- Maintain activity logs during shift
- Ensure product accuracy in relation to weight, labels, count, etc.
- Maintain a safe and clean work space
- Follow established safety rules and regulations
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Working knowledge of high-speed machinery and measurement tools
- High attention to detail
- Ability to multi-task and manage several moving parts at once
- Commitment to quality, safety and communication
- Team-oriented and self-directed
Education and Experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent, technical degree preferred
- 2 years’ experience in a food manufacturing environment preferred
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time
- Ability to lift 25 pounds
- Ability to carry 25 pounds
